We're very pleased to announce that perverse_idyll has joined the snarry_reader. Perverse Idyll is well known for her HP recs and story reviews, and is an avid Snape/Harry reader as well. We're very happy to have her on board.

rubytuesday5681)i just signed up for a fest. my first fest! *is terrified and excited*
i had to take a sick day today out of sheer exhaustion. i am so sleep-deprived and haven't spent more than 15 minutes on leisure activities in the last 6 weeks or so. i just needed a day. i got a bit caught up on fandom, this makes me feel better.
things should start to calm down a bit now with work and school, but now i have to think about the holidays. there is so much to do and i am starting much later than normal!
woe is me.
the worst part of it is that i did all of this to myself. i made choices and agreed to do things and now i am crazy busy. when school is done next year, things should get much better.

snarry_holidays (NC-17)Summary: Non-magic AU set in the late Victorian era. Chief Inspector Severus Snape of Scotland Yard comes to Hogsmeade to investigate a most baffling murder at the Riddle house. Fortunately PC Potter is eager to assist him in all matters.
I'm a great fan of Sherlock Holmes, and I always thought that there are striking similarities between Holmes and Snape. The author plays with the resemblances, but instead of wearing them thin with depicting Snape as Holmes, s/he makes Snape a Scotland Yard inspector who has to compete against the famous sleuth and his showy methods on a daily basis. It figures that Police Constables Potter and Weasley are fen. However, Snape can easily convince Harry of his own personal qualities.
There are awesome cameos of Hermione as suffragette, Mrs Figg as (not so) naive landlady and Albus Dumbledore as barmy baronet. Not a small feat, the author has succeeded in fitting together HP and Sherlock Holmes canon in a historical AU setting that allows room for both worlds. I love the sheer British-ness of it all, and the fact that s/he managed to surprise me in the end. Great entertainment!

The actual protagonist of this story is Hogwarts, and it's a very grouchy and resentful Hogwarts we're talking about. Harry's a hard job to do to appease it, but of course, he's just the man for it, with his Gryffindor bravery and his confused charm. This Harry's adorable, and I'm not in the least surprised about Snape's concept of heaven. Feel-good fic at its best!

the_con_cept)So I'm mostly done with alisanne's holiday Snarry, and I was wondering if someone would please look it over for me and help me get it smooth and pretty? It's a nice little ficlet, but I think it needs a bit of work. It's only missing two scenes, but I could make it longer. The thing is, I haven't spent a lot of time on it, but I think it's got potential. The bones are there. I'm just so much better at sitting down and pounding out a story than I am at editing and moving stuff around and figuring out what needs to be elaborated on and what needs to be cut.
So if anyone would care to look over what I've got, I could forward it to you today. It's got a bit of Master/Pet and some various silliness and Harry flirting with many people, just in case any of that squicks you.
And if no one's interested, I'd like a grammar/spelling beta for when it's done, please.

Change.gov has incorporated additional features designed to make the Transition more accessible and its content more open and re-useable. For every video posted – from the weekly addresses, to press conferences, to speeches, to “Inside the Transition” pieces – there are links to high-resolution QuickTime video files beneath embedded videos (these are also available via the Transition’s podcast), so that the video can be saved to a computer and edited at will. The Obama-Biden Transition Team is continuing to explore ways to use new media to create a more transparent Transition.
